Welcome

This is the beginning of a shared workshop project rooted in practical work, stewardship, reciprocity, and learning together.

Right now, this is not a fully formed organization, business, nonprofit, or school.

It is simply:

The goal is not rapid growth. The goal is to create a durable place where:

This project starts small.

We are building from where we actually are — not pretending to already be something we are not.

What We Are Building

Over time, this may become:

But today:

We are mostly building the space itself.

That means:

Core Principles

Build Together

Shared work builds trust faster than discussion.

Start Small

We value consistency and reality over ambition and hype.

Learn By Doing

Participation matters more than credentials.

Stewardship

We care for tools, materials, people, and the space itself.

Reciprocity

People contribute where they can and receive support where needed.

Participation Over Consumption

This is not a service people passively consume. It is a place people help shape.

Agreements

Why Agreements Matter

The workshop depends on trust.

These agreements are not meant to create rigid control. They exist to help us:

Participation in the workshop means agreeing to help maintain the space and culture.

Core Agreements

1. Leave Things Better Than You Found Them

Clean up after yourself. Return tools. Help maintain shared order.

The workshop only works if everyone participates in stewardship.

2. Ask Before Using Specialized Tools

Some tools require training, supervision, or coordination.

If you do not know how to safely use something:

Ask.

3. Respect People, Materials, and Time

We expect:

Conflict is normal. Disrespect is not.

4. Participation Matters More Than Status

This space values:

Not titles, credentials, or hierarchy.

5. Safety Comes First

Unsafe behavior around tools, materials, vehicles, or people may result in being asked to stop work or leave for the day.

Everyone shares responsibility for maintaining a safe environment.

6. We Practice Governance Through Real Work

We are experimenting with collaborative decision-making inspired by sociocracy.

This means:

We are learning by doing.

This Is a Living Document

These agreements will evolve over time as the workshop grows and new people participate.

Vision & Mission

Vision

We envision a local workshop ecosystem where people of different ages and backgrounds can:

We believe strong communities grow through:

Mission

The mission of the workshop is to:

Long-Term Possibilities

Over time, the workshop may support:

But none of that is guaranteed.

We are focused first on building:

What We Are Not

We are not:

At least not today.

This project is intentionally experimental and grounded.

We are trying to build something real slowly enough that it can actually sustain itself.

Expectations

What You Can Expect From This Space

We aim to create an environment that is:

People here may be:

What Is Expected of Participants

You do not need to be an expert.

You do need to:

Beginner Friendly

This is intended to be a baby-step environment.

You are allowed to:

Curiosity and reliability matter more than experience.

Reliability Matters

We value people who:

Trust is built through repeated participation.

Ownership and Projects

People may eventually:

As this evolves, we will continue developing clearer agreements around:

Get Involved

Current Stage

Right now, this project is in its earliest stages.

We are still:

This is not a polished program.

It is a real place slowly becoming something larger through participation.

Ways To Participate

You can help by:

Young People and Apprenticeship

Young people are welcome to participate in age-appropriate ways.

The goal is not to create unpaid labor.

The goal is to:

Over time, some participants may:

Future Possibilities

Future opportunities may include:

But for now:

The most important thing is simply showing up and helping build the foundation.
